Rhythm of Resurrection
Well, Easter has come and gone. Just like any other holiday, it has passed by like a jet airplane on the runway. Although I thoroughly enjoy remembering the risen Lord during that time of year, I am equally passionate about remaining aware and in “resurrected mode” throughout the rest of the year. Aren't you glad we don’t have to treat resurrection as a single isolated day of the year, but as a perpetual lifestyle. Friends, we can get into the “rhythm of resurrection.”
After thinking through some biblical truths and how I desire to apply the resurrection in everyday life, I have identified some tools that will help us abide in the truth that Jesus is fully alive. Check it out…
Think on These Things
One cannot simply act resurrected unless they first think like it - awareness of something allows the application of it. It's a Kingdom principle. This is why Paul boldly declared, “And do not be conformed to this (dead system of the) world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2 emphasis added) The word “transformed” here is the same word used when Christ transfigured before His disciples. Paul knew if we would think like the glorious and resurrected Christ, we would be able to “demonstrate” the will of God in everyday life (12:2b).
In this, I encourage you to meditate on certain passages and thoughts concerning His resurrection. Let your mind resonate with the truth that He is alive and well. As you think of these things, you will become like these things.
Tell Your Testimony
There is an unwavering confidence that is released when we tell our story. In a sense, this is what Christ did after He rose from the grave. Acts 1 tells us that He appeared to His followers 40 days after His resurrection, to instruct in the ways of His Kingdom. In essence, He testified about Himself (Luke 24:27).
Your testimony is alive with breakthrough, and when you release it to others, it creates a context of breakthrough for them.
Fellowship with Other Believers
The book of Acts testifies to the power of community. In fact, the word community means, “common unity.” One of the implications of this is, they all shared the common value of being resurrected ones who were passionate about declaring the risen Christ. It was their common vision to make the living God known. When we gather in the name of the Lord, we are stirring up our hearts to remember Him. Specifically, communion is the act of remembering. So, I encourage us to gather and make a big deal about our resurrected Lord. He is worth it!
