“The highlight of the whole thing could be defined by two simple words, just be.”
In March of 2022, I decided to go on a 3-month sabbatical to rest and simply push “pause” on day-to-day activities, specifically those related to church ministry. Mind you, I have been in ministry for over 20 years, and this was the first time I had taken an extended time away. To say it was long overdue would be an understatement.
Looking back over the 90-day rest, I have to say that it was an amazing time to refocus and inventory where I was in my own personal life. However, the highlight of the whole thing could be defined by two simple words: JUST BE.
During the sabbatical, I began to get language to express what I was experiencing—and it was coming through the medium of music. Within a few days, I, along with my daughter Olivia, wrote a song that we now realize was the cry of our hearts to know God and be known by him. It’s called, “Just Be.”
Two years later, we are excited to announce that we have recorded and released this song, and we want to share it with you.
