A Simple Encouragement (Being Present)

Dear friends,

I just wanted to drop in and encourage you today. I understand that life can be a doozy at times, and remaining hopeful and in peace isn’t always the easiest thing. So, please know that I am praying for you today. I’m asking that the Father would awaken us to know and experience what Jesus Christ knows and experiences in his life with the Father. That, just like him, we would live inside the grace of being PRESENT.

You see, all of us experience anxiety and stress, which are the emotions we experience when we’re being pulled away from the present moment. It’s often attached to the illusion that exists only in the past or future—never the NOW.

These illusions usually come in the form of “should've, could've, would've, can’t, or won’t be able to…” Quite simply, it’s always screaming to us the lack of our own strength.

But, what if I told you that we could rise above that type of noise and allow ourselves to get lost in the present moment—a realm of time that is teeming with life, Gods very presence!

When we say “Gods presence,” we are literally saying “Gods present state of being.”

What if we surrendered ourselves to the present moment, allowing what is to be?

What if we detached from all forms of regret (about the past) and worry (about the future) and simply chose to enjoy the only moment we have, which is right now!

What if instead of rolling in the regret of “yesterday,” or even venturing out to do something “great” in the coming day, we simply cultivated the present moment with such care and excellence.

If that meant taking care of the “small and mundane,” then so be it. If it meant dying to what we are told is “success,” and we just simply loved that co-worker, cared for our children, greeted our neighbor, or even took out the trash—then we’re gonna do it with all of our heart.

What is it that you have in front of you right now? What is the present situation or person you can serve in the present moment?

Friends, I am finding that there is so much life to encounter when we learn to live in the PRESENT moment—when we learn to JUST BE right here, right now!

There’s no moment but the present. May we learn to let go and get lost in it.

Grace and peace!
